Ah Chiang Porridge

Young as he is, Mr. Cher Kee Chiang, better known as Ah Chiang, was helping out at his uncle’s porridge stall. For two years, he was learning the ropes of cooking traditional porridge, preparing ingredients, serving porridge to customers and the list goes on. Filled with perseverance and a fire of passion for porridge, Ah Chiang started his own small porridge stall at Tiong Poh Road in 1971. Today, the stall is still there; Ah Chiang is still there, preparing ingredients from 4am every morning without fail.
